We have begun Writer's Workshop, and students are enjoying sharing their true stories through illustrations and writing. Students are encouraged, as we have discussed that they are all writers and have a job to do! As writers, students are following four steps when starting a story; think, draw, label, write! After students have completed those four steps, they are to go back and add detail to their pictures. To do this students are acting as Superstar Illustrators! To become a Superstar Illustrator students are following these steps.

All About Mrs. SpidleHello Nathaniel Morton families! My name is Mrs. Spidle and this is my third year teaching at Nathaniel Morton Elementary. Before I joined the fabulous team at NMES, I taught first grade at Federal Furnace for three years and kindergarten for six years at Sacred Heart. I love working with children and believe in cementing their love for learning at a young age. I have an undergraduate degree in early childhood education and a master's degree in reading education. As an early childhood educator, I love teaching all subjects, but my first love is reading! I believe in cultivating a love of reading in all of my students. I love to read, and am on a mission to have a community of motivated readers in my classroom! Archives
