Families!!! A note that was supposed to go home today, did not make it into students' mailboxes. The note requested that students bring in an apple (red, green or yellow) to school by Thursday, September 29th. I am posting this here, so that parents have more than one days notice. If I notice that most students are not able to get their apples in this week, I will reschedule our apple activities for next. Thank you for your support in this matter!

Students are becoming more and more independent as they rotate through, and work in literacy and math centers. Students have also been practicing their sketching in Writers Workshop. Students have been trying to make the characters in their stories look as real as possible.
Welcome to Kindergarten! At our Kindergarten Orientation I read the book "Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten." Just like Miss Bindergarten, I had a lot to do to get ready for MY kindergarteners. This is what our classroom looked like when I came into the building over the summer. And this is what it looks like now that it is set up and filled with fabulous faces! MUCH better! I am so excited to finally be getting to know my students! I was waiting all summer to meet everyone! I have so many fabulous kiddos in my class, and I know we are going to have a fabulous year together!

All About Mrs. SpidleHello Nathaniel Morton families! My name is Mrs. Spidle and this is my third year teaching at Nathaniel Morton Elementary. Before I joined the fabulous team at NMES, I taught first grade at Federal Furnace for three years and kindergarten for six years at Sacred Heart. I love working with children and believe in cementing their love for learning at a young age. I have an undergraduate degree in early childhood education and a master's degree in reading education. As an early childhood educator, I love teaching all subjects, but my first love is reading! I believe in cultivating a love of reading in all of my students. I love to read, and am on a mission to have a community of motivated readers in my classroom! Archives
