I have been so excited about starting a new school year, and I hope all of my students are too. When I was finally able to get back into the school this summer, this is what our classroom looked like. Stay tuned to see what it looks like after I spent a few days setting it up! I can't wait to see everyone on Tuesday! Enjoy your last day of summer!

In January, teachers/naturalists from the Burgess Society in Sandwich, came into the First Grade classrooms to teach students about the many animals that are part of the Massachusetts' habitat. During this hour long visit, students had the hands-on opportunity to learn and study animal tracks, herbivore, carnivore and omnivore teeth as well as animal furs. However, maybe the most exciting part was when the students had the chance to meet Eddie; a live rabbit from the nature center!

All About Mrs. SpidleHello Nathaniel Morton families! My name is Mrs. Spidle and this is my third year teaching at Nathaniel Morton Elementary. Before I joined the fabulous team at NMES, I taught first grade at Federal Furnace for three years and kindergarten for six years at Sacred Heart. I love working with children and believe in cementing their love for learning at a young age. I have an undergraduate degree in early childhood education and a master's degree in reading education. As an early childhood educator, I love teaching all subjects, but my first love is reading! I believe in cultivating a love of reading in all of my students. I love to read, and am on a mission to have a community of motivated readers in my classroom! Archives
