During the month of September students learned about apples in Science. We read books, created diagrams, cut the fruit open to explore the inside of it, and even tasted a variety of apples. Students finished the unit during the last week in September, by cooking applesauce in the classroom. Students followed a recipe and then enjoyed the end result with a special visitor-Mr. Sylvester!

All About Mrs. SpidleHello Nathaniel Morton families! My name is Mrs. Spidle and this is my third year teaching at Nathaniel Morton Elementary. Before I joined the fabulous team at NMES, I taught first grade at Federal Furnace for three years and kindergarten for six years at Sacred Heart. I love working with children and believe in cementing their love for learning at a young age. I have an undergraduate degree in early childhood education and a master's degree in reading education. As an early childhood educator, I love teaching all subjects, but my first love is reading! I believe in cultivating a love of reading in all of my students. I love to read, and am on a mission to have a community of motivated readers in my classroom! Archives
