Last week, our Big Friends in Mrs. Gannon's class came to visit us to help out with pumpkin centers! Together, students counted seeds, measured the circumference of a pumpkin, tested to see if a pumpkin would float or sink, and so much more.

As October is Fire Safety Awareness month, Kindergarten took the opportunity to visit the Plymouth Fire Station. While there, students were able to explore the inside of a few different fire trucks, learn about some of the different tools firefighter use, and discuss what to do and expect if there was a fire in their house.
Kindergarten has been working with their third grade 'Big Friends' in Mr. Van Etta's class. During our first visit together, students created their own lobster, after being inspired by Plymouth's recent Lobster Crawl. The following week, our 'Big Friends' helped kindergartners in apple centers. Together, students stamped, measured, graphed and experimented with apples! |
All About Mrs. SpidleHello Nathaniel Morton families! My name is Mrs. Spidle and this is my third year teaching at Nathaniel Morton Elementary. Before I joined the fabulous team at NMES, I taught first grade at Federal Furnace for three years and kindergarten for six years at Sacred Heart. I love working with children and believe in cementing their love for learning at a young age. I have an undergraduate degree in early childhood education and a master's degree in reading education. As an early childhood educator, I love teaching all subjects, but my first love is reading! I believe in cultivating a love of reading in all of my students. I love to read, and am on a mission to have a community of motivated readers in my classroom! Archives
