During the month of October students will be learning about bats and spiders in Science. We finished our mini-unit on bats last week. Students began by sharing their schema (what they already knew) about bats. After that students did some research on bats through the use of books, scholastic news articles, and the internet. After we completed our bat research students completed a "Can, Have, Are" chart first collectively and then individually.

All About Mrs. SpidleHello Nathaniel Morton families! My name is Mrs. Spidle and this is my third year teaching at Nathaniel Morton Elementary. Before I joined the fabulous team at NMES, I taught first grade at Federal Furnace for three years and kindergarten for six years at Sacred Heart. I love working with children and believe in cementing their love for learning at a young age. I have an undergraduate degree in early childhood education and a master's degree in reading education. As an early childhood educator, I love teaching all subjects, but my first love is reading! I believe in cultivating a love of reading in all of my students. I love to read, and am on a mission to have a community of motivated readers in my classroom! Archives
