On the last day of September our first grade class was busy finishing up our unit on Apples. We began our day by following a recipe to make applesauce. Students helped stir the ingredients. Then four hours later...we tasted our creation, and it was unanimously decided that it was delicious! A big THANK YOU to the LeClairs for donating the apples used to make the applesauce!! We finished the day with an apple taste test. Students tasted Granny Smith, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, and Pink Lady apples. They then voted on their favorite apple and we created a tally chart.

All About Mrs. SpidleHello Nathaniel Morton families! My name is Mrs. Spidle and this is my third year teaching at Nathaniel Morton Elementary. Before I joined the fabulous team at NMES, I taught first grade at Federal Furnace for three years and kindergarten for six years at Sacred Heart. I love working with children and believe in cementing their love for learning at a young age. I have an undergraduate degree in early childhood education and a master's degree in reading education. As an early childhood educator, I love teaching all subjects, but my first love is reading! I believe in cultivating a love of reading in all of my students. I love to read, and am on a mission to have a community of motivated readers in my classroom! Archives
